Tell me,
What is Singapore's "supposed" first compulsary language that everyone has to know?
It's English.
Why I ask?
Well let me tell you that whenever i have to buy something this happens again and again.
They either speak to me in Chinese or Malay.
Yes, I know i can speak chinese but i choose not to. As for malay, too bad i don't know the language. However, that is not my point.
They should be serving customers in ENGLISH.
some stall vendors don't even know English and are selling stuff. Yes, i know their nice people but let's be practical here, by right you are suppose to know English when you are serving customers.
and I personally can't stand the fact when I have already spoken in English to them they still have the bloody nerve to ask me whether i could speak in Mandrin. One even said im Singaporean so i must know malay. Well, im not malay missy so screw you!
Internationally-in most countries that have English as their main language- serve customers in English.
So what the hell?
If i speak in English I expect to be spoken back in English and not be asked why i can't speak in malay or whether i can speak in Mandrin.
and Don't even start by saying I can speak chinese why not use it.. That is not my point.
What happens, if let's say some European or American person comes to that particular stall to eat and the stall vendors can't speak English?
Then tell me..
what's the point in running the stall man? get someone who can speak in English and if he knows mandrin or malay or whatever good for him but seriously..
This has to change in Singapore..
I HATE it when they ask me to speak something i don't want to speak espeacially if you are serving me.
AND BLOODY HELL...
DUN CALL ME ANGMO!
Seriosuly.. not everyone who cant speak your language is Angmo..
LOSERS! i don't have red hair...
